                        Preparation and properties of AM/PVP interpenetrating
                                              network structure resin

                 Abstract: In this paper, by using MBA as initiator and APS as crosslinker, polyacrylamide (AM)/
             polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) interpenetrating hydrogel was prepared by front end polymerization, and the
             difference in the performance of the hydrogels with different proportions was studied. The structure and
             properties of IPN hydrogels were characterized by IR. When the contents of the solvent water, the crosslinker
             and the initiator were all constant, the content of PVP was adjusted from 0~40% of the monomer, then the
             properties of the hydrogels were observed. With the increase of PVP content, the water absorption rate
             decreased from 800 g/g to 550 g/g, and the brine uptake rate decreased from 267 g/g to 183 g/g. When the
             content of AM, PVP, crosslinker and initiator were all constant, the content of solvent water was adjusted from
             16 mL to 20 mL, and the properties of hydrogels were observed. With the increase of water content, the water
             absorption of hydrogels decreased from 756 g/g to 402 g/g, and the rate of brine uptake decreased from
             252 g/g to 134 g/g. When the content of AM, PVP, crosslinker and water were all constant, the content of
             initiator was adjusted from 0.23 g to 0.27 g, and the properties of hydrogels were observed. With the increase
             of initiator APS content, the water uptake rate and brine uptake rate both increased first and then decreased.
             The frontal polymerization was compared with the conventional polymerization method in this paper.
