Analysis of the bonding mechanism between steel cord and rubber by
scanning electron microscope/energy spectrometer

Abstract: Brass-plated steel cords are widely used as reinforcing materials for rubber composites. The
adhesion of steel cords and rubber is critical throughout the life of the steel cord/rubber. Therefore, the
bonding mechanism is a focus of the rubber industry for decades. Various modern analytical instruments, such
as X-ray spectrometers and mass spectrometers, have been applied to the study of the bonding interface. In
this paper, the surface morphology and bonding mechanism of steel cords were studied by scanning electron
microscopy/energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM/EDX). Based on the results of these morphological
tests, it was observed that the rubber residual zone was mainly located in the Cu/Zn void region. Further
research indicates that the macrostructure of the adhesive layer leads to the interlocking mechanism of
rubber residues.

2018 年,内蒙古包头市九原区政府与晋胶高新技术(上海)有限公司,签署 15 万 t 丁橡胶项目合作协议。
九原区区委书记高勇、晋胶公司董事长孙静宇,代表双方在协议上签字。
据了解,15 万 t 丁橡胶项目由晋胶公司投资建设。
这个项目总投资 51 亿元,分三期建设,其中一期投资 20 亿元,建设年产 3 万 t 丁橡胶生产线。
签约仪式前,与会人员参观了晋胶氯丁橡胶及胶乳产品,并进行座谈交流。
资料显示,晋胶公司成立于 2012 年,是一家高新技术企业。
氯丁橡胶广泛应用于各种橡胶制品及胶黏剂产品。
