Abstract: As a kind of intelligent material with stimuli responsive properties, Shape Memory Polymers (SMPs)
is increasingly popular among researchers. Because of its unique excellent properties, it can be widely used
in biomedical, textile, aviation and other fields. Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxanes (POSS) is an organic-
inorganic hybrid cage molecule with nanometer size. POSS can be introduced into polymers by chemical
copolymerization or physical blending to improve the properties of polymers, including shape memory
properties. In this paper, the research progress of POSS in different shape memory polymers is introduced, and
the influence of the introduction of POSS on the shape memory properties of polymers is discussed in detail,
and the possible future research focus and development direction are also prospected.
